Meet Oral Surgeon, 
Karen S. Zemplenyi, DDS, MD
Dr. Zemplenyi is a Seattle native who completed her undergraduate studies in biochemistry from Harvard University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She then returned to the beautiful Pacific Northwest where she completed four years of dental school through the University of Washington followed by a six-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. This earned her a medical degree in addition to her Oral & Maxillofacial surgical training. During that time, she trained at Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, the Seattle Veterans Hospital, Madigan Army Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center, and Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (Boise, ID).
Dr. Zemplenyi holds professional membership in the American Dental Association, American Medical Association, is a Diplomate of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is Board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Aside from joining the team at 47 North Oral Surgery, Dr. Zemplenyi also travels multiple times per year to Southeast Alaska where she provides care to underserved populations. In her free time she enjoys traveling, skiing, tennis and reading non-fiction.
